深圳新闻网2025年1月20日讯 一个是在香港中文大学（深圳）读书的巴西小伙子，一个是在美国迈阿密博士一年级在读的深圳女孩，他们在蛇年春节来临前决定挑战一下自己，找一个大人物做书法老师，现学写春联。

A Brazilian guy studying at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) and Hongzhu Kim,a Shenzhen girl in her first year of PhD studies at the University of Miami decided to challenge themselves before the arrival of the Year of the Snake. They wanted to find a master to teach them calligraphy and learn how to write Spring Festival couplets.

说做就做。大人物登场，他是香港中文大学（深圳）校长徐扬生，Chico的校长。徐扬生与书法的缘分超过50多年，他的书法作品行云流水，落笔飘逸，已入化境。在香港中文大学（深圳）三层楼高的书架墙前，徐校长铺开纸墨笔砚，示范了如何用毛笔写“福”和“龙”。
They didn't hesitate—action followed immediately. The big shot made his entrance: Professor Xu Yangsheng, the president of CUHK-Shenzhen, and Chico's principal. Professor Xu has had a connection with calligraphy for more than 50 years. His calligraphy works flow gracefully, with a fluid stroke and an airy touch, reaching a state of mastery. In front of a bookshelf wall three stories high at CUHK-Shenzhen, President Xu spread out paper, ink, brush, and inkstone, demonstrating how to write "福" (blessing) and "龙" (dragon) with a brush.
徐扬生校长为Chico点赞。
"名师出高徒"。Chico的两幅汉字一挥而就，全场惊叹，连徐校长也大赞“Amazing”，完全不像是第一次写书法的外国人。
As the saying goes, a great teacher creates great students—Chico's two Chinese characters were completed in one stroke, stunning everyone. Even President Xu praised them, saying, “Amazing!” He certainly didn't look like the work of a foreigner writing calligraphy for the first time.
小龙送福，蛇年吉祥。
辞旧迎新，为新的一年祈福。春节对中国人来说，是最重要的传统节日。人们用红纸写上书法贴在家门口，这就是春联。

Saying goodbye to the old and welcoming the new, they prayed for a prosperous new year. The Spring Festival is the most important traditional holiday for Chinese people. People write calligraphy on red paper and paste it on their doorways—these are the Spring Festival couplets.
This year, during the Spring Festival, you're invited to follow Chico's lead and write (or choose) a Spring Festival couplet for yourself, and enjoy a joyful and peaceful Snake Year in Shenzhen.
